PNW DX CONVENTION 2013
The Closing Curtain The 2013 Pacific Northwest DX Convention has come to an end. But what a convention! Comments from most everyone has been favorable and we will strive to make it even better the next time around. If you have comments about the convention or what you would like to see in Vancouver for next year, please let us know. We would be happy to forward your thoughts to the Orca DX Club. Thanks to all of the vendors who donated their time and money for some great door and raffle prizes, and thanks most of all for those of you who attended our convention. 73 & Good DX!
Convention Time Is Here! This coming Friday kicks off the 2013 Pacific Northwest DX Convention here in Spokane. We have a great bunch of speakers lined up, lots of door prizes, some fantastic raffle prizes, and our hope is that everyone has a wonderful time. It's still not too late to register online and we will be taking registrations at the door.
It Just Keeps Getting Better!! The bad news is that Yaesu will not be donating a FT-950 after all. The good news is that they will be donating a new FTDX-3000 instead!! What can you say? The support from all the vendors has just been phenomenal and we appreciate it so much :) Check out our updated Raffle / Door Prize Info page for more information.
Important Notice!!! - The last day for ordering meals will be July 23rd. After that date, you will still be able to register for the convention itself, but will not be able to order any meals for the Saturday dinner or Sunday brunch. So if want to attend either of those events, you need to get your registration in ASAP!!
I'm happy to announce that we received word from Icom that they will be donating a new
IC-7410 Transceiver along with a matching PS-126 Power Supply for a raffle prize. Wow, what a nice surprise and one sweet radio! Our thanks goes to Icom USA for this nice donation. With all of the prizes we have lined up, you had better be prepared to buy lots of tickets :) We also received notice that West Mountain Radio is donating a RIGblaster Plug & Play Interface for a door prize.
In relation to the note posted below, with today's registrations (June 24th), we have gone over the 100 mark not including those that may have come by mail recently.
Wow!! We have had a bunch of registrations come in lately, including AD0H, Skip Walter from Ames, Iowa and David Patton, NN1N, from Ashford, Ct. We wish to thank you all for registering for the convention and look forward to seeing you in August!
NOTE: It is with great sadness to report that Wilse Morgan, WX7P, became a Silent Key the 13th of June. Although he won't be with us in body at the convention, I know he will be there in spirit. He loved every aspect of the hobby and was a true ambassador for Amateur Radio. You will be missed Wilse :(
It has been decided that the Early Bird Registration prize will be the Tigertronics Signalink. A nice prize for some lucky person who gets their registration in before July 1st!
Yeah!!! We just received the official word from SteppIR that they will be donating a $1000 gift certificate towards the purchase of a new antenna as a raffle prize. Bob Rosie announced at our last SDXA meeting that he was donating one of the High Sierra Coax Crimping Kits for a door prize. I'm not sure if you have seen these before, but they are very nice kits and I've been wanting to buy one myself. Maybe I'll get lucky and win it at the convention :)
I'm happy to keep busy as a webmaster when I get to add new donations to the list :) That means we will have quite a few goodies to give away this summer for those who attend! The latest donations come from The Daily DX with 2 one year subscriptions and the other from Hi-Q Amateur Radio Products. Also Tigertronics will be donating a Signalink USB Interface. Thanks guys!

We have the site on a secure SSL server to help protect your privacy.
One of the new startup clubs in the area that I'm sure we will hearing more of in the upcoming months is the Idaho DX Association. Although they are just starting out, they have generously offered a new Hustler 5BTV as a raffle prize. Thanks guys! :)
